Services
-
Free Parent Consultation
Therapeutic match is key to success. Before making the decision to proceed, get to know our services and approach. The consultation provides prospective families with an opportunity to share hopes and concerns for their child, and to learn more about Gab Lab. During the consultation, we will discuss evaluation and treatment options, and develop an initial plan for moving forward.
-
Speech Language Evaluation
An evaluation is often recommended when further information about a child is needed to determine need for services, progress, and/or treatment plans. Each evaluation plan is customized to fit the needs of the family and may include a combination of norm referenced measures (standardized tests), criterion referenced measures (assessments that compare performance to developmentally expected skills), observations, interviews, and family input. Full evaluations conclude with a written report that allows parents, the clinician, and all members of the child’s communication circle to build a shared understanding of assessment outcomes, strengths, needs, and plans for next steps.
-
Individual Speech Language Therapy
Individual speech language treatment sessions address needs outlined in an initial evaluation by progressing towards mutually agreed upon goals. Sessions are highly customized to fit the temperament, interests, skills, and needs of each child/family, and center on a basis of great rapport, a shared safe space, and a sense of fun. Using a fusion of evidence based practices, research, and proprietary treatment techniques, each child’s growth is maximized. Treatment may address the following areas of need:
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
Receptive Language
Expressive Language
Articulation
Fluency
Executive Function
Social/Pragmatic Language
Autism
